Ci sono persone che hanno vissuto con ritmo, che hanno completato il ciclo dell’esistenza passando dall’infuriare della giovinezza alle solide conquiste della maturità e al quieto e pacifico declino verso la morte. La gente di questo genere non teme la morte né lotta per sfuggirla giacché la vita è sempre stata completa, realizzata come un’opera d’arte. Non hanno mai temuto né negato la vita. Non accettano la morte per stanchezza o disperazione ma l’accettano perché hanno compiuto il ciclo con compiuta soddisfazione. Quanti ne sono rimasti al giorno d’oggi? (Louis Bromfield)
